Supportive Housing

Helping You Secure Safe & Affordable Housing

We believe everyone deserves a space to call home. Our supportive housing program helps individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity find safe, affordable housing by partnering with property owners to match people with an appropriate living situation that meets their needs.

Housing Program Update from Black Men Coalition:

Black Men Coalition will be pausing its housing program indefinitely due to lack of low-barrier housing availability and adequate funding to meet housing needs. Our staff will continue to work diligently to provide individuals seeking housing with appropriate referrals to other community resources. Please reach out to our office staff with any questions or concerns.

Eligibility & Requirements

As the need is great for so many, we prioritize applicants with consistent income and a willingness to engage in our financial literacy programming and other supportive services.

Requirements:

  • Monthly income of at least 2X the monthly rent
  • Ability to cover move-in expenses: first month’s rent and security deposit (usually equal to one month’s rent)
  • Ability to pay resident care fee: $1,200 annually or $100/month. This covers case management, lease support, and coordination with property owners.

Next Steps:

If you believe you meet the above criteria, please complete the following forms:

  • Resident Application
  • Income Verification Form

Once approved, you will be contacted to schedule a tour of the available units and select which one you would like to move into. A lease will then be prepared for you and Black Men Coalition Foundation to sign. Once signed, you will receive the keys and the move-in directions.
